I'm going on my honeymoon in 76 days (but who's counting??) and I'm on a mission for a few cute long torso swimsuits. Particularly I'd like one piece suits that look a tad retro and classic. I don't want boring, but I do want coverage. There are a few different long torso resources, but it seems harder to find suits that are long torso and cute. I found some good options at JCrew, Athleta, Long Tall Sally, and Eddie Bauer.  Land's End has a couple of options (although arguably they don't meet the 'cute' criteria ;) ).  Of course, tankinis are a tall girl's friend, and you can find some great options at Nordstrom.  Swimsuits for All has long torso options, although they're not my style...they may be yours!  Always good to share resources, right?  So here goes...I'd love your opinion on the suits I found.

Which is your favorite??  Do you know of other long torso swimsuit resources?

On mornings when I'm just not feeling up for "getting ready" I turn to my tall standby - my green tall linen shirt from JCrew.  It's practically tunic length on me - the shoulders are wide enough - and the sleeves are past my wrists.  The best part is that right now JCrew is having an additional 30% off all sale styles!

What's your tall summer staple??

Never in a million years did I think I'd get to say these words:  I ran a half marathon last weekend!!!  I've never been a runner or athlete, so this was a real challenge.  Woo hoo!  I'm so glad I did it, AND that it's over!  :)

I had such a difficult time finding tall running pants...my waist-to-bum ration is pretty dramatic and most running pants are too loose in the waist.  I tried multiple brands - Nike, adidas, lululemon - and couldn't find a style that stayed around my waist for more than a few blocks.  UNTIL I found the lucy Perfect Core Pant!!  They're high-waisted, have a 36" inseam, and have a Spanx-like effect on the bits I'd prefer to hide.  I can't recommend them enough.  Seriously.  I want to sing it from the rooftops.

Next I want to try the Elle Mayers Living it Up Tall Pant...I'm waiting for the 36" inseams to be restocked in my size.  I can't wait to support a clothing line for tall women!  What's your go-to fitness pant?

A couple of weeks ago Scott and I had our engagement shoot with Jessica Ho of Jessica May Photography.  It was a fantastic day!  Here are a couple of my favorites:

Engagement shoot Ballard Market

I'm wearing my Height Goddess skinny jeans, a normal-sized silk shirt from JCrew (check out that sleeve length!), and my favorite gold flats.

And I had to feature my tall Banana Republic trench...(P.S.  I'm holding a 5-foot heart kite.  It looks amazing when it flies, but the wind wasn't really cooperating that day!).

I love this one the best:

I'm in a fashion program at UW (have I mentioned that?), and our assignment last week was to write our consumer insight and brand story.  What do tall women shoppers believe?  What do I want a tall brand to stand for?  Well...I wrote from the heart, and it turns out my heart feels strongly about this subject.  And the result?  My instructor said I should either "soften" it a bit or make it a rallying cry.  I choose rallying cry.  :)

1.  I believe tall women should be able to find fashionable, well-made clothes designed for their tall frames.

2.  I believe I should be able to find clothes that reflect my personal style.

3.  I believe I shouldn't have to compromise fashion for fit.

4.  I desire options.

5. I desire to be recognized as a legitimate market segment that has buying power.

6.  I want to feel stylish, elegant, daring, and comfortable in clothes that are made for women my height.

7.  I don't want to wear clothes designed for women 10 inches shorter than me.

That's my tall shopping manifesto.  I'd love to hear yours!
