Some more pictures of our most amazing day!  Maggie Sottero tall bride

The girls got their bridesmaids' dresses at JCrew.  My tall wedding dress is by Maggie Sottero.  I never thought I'd like lace, but it was love at first try-on.  :)

My hair and makeup was by Heather Tietjen.  She worked miracles!

straw tags

I designed some fun straw tags in our colors...

pinwheel wall

My pride and joy from the day...the pinwheel wall.  We collected handmade paper from local art shops, and I made them into pinwheels and attached them to wood dowels.  I was so happy with how this turned out!

kids' activity boxes

The kids' activity boxes:  I filled them with puzzles, games, etc and handmade some crayons.  I had the best time creating these boxes!

sparkler send off tags

Our wedding logo was designed by my handsome (and talented!) husband Scott, who is the owner of W35 Designs.  I made the matchbooks by covering them with our chevron paper and some washi tape.

escort board, escort cards, and magnets

Scott handcarved the escort card board with a chevron print and designed all the escort cards.  I handmade the chevron magnets.  I will never buy a magnet again!! ;)

marquee letters

The most amazing marquee letters EVER...by W35 Designs (a.k.a. my husband, the handsome groom).

I designed the kids' activity books.  I designed crossword puzzles, I Spy, mazes, coloring pages, and riddles.  The illustration on the cover is from the stamp we bought from lilimandrill via etsy.

There are more to come...I can't wait to share.  Our wedding was the most special day of my life.  Sharing the photos is so much fun!

Hey y'all!  I'm back.  :)  After the wedding, honeymoon, our move to Texas, and my new job, I'm finally able to breathe a bit and reconnect with everyone!  I'm so excited to be able to share a few pictures from our wedding.

My dress was by Maggie Sottero.  The company was able to extend it by 3 inches, so it just barely skimmed the floor, but it did!

I used some of my grandma's costume jewelry to make the brooch along the waistline.

My best friends in my favorite color.

This last one is classic.  The photographer, Jessica May Photo, told us to dance.  No one did, so someone-who-shall-remain-unnamed started rapping "Supersonic."   We kinda got into it.

So that's the first of them.  More to come soon.

23 Sep 2012

Last night we went to a beautiful wedding.  It was the perfect day in Seattle - clear, sunny, warm.  The ceremony was right above Pike Place Market.  It was absolutely perfect, and the bride was beautiful!  I wore my newest Madewell hi-lo skirt (a.k.a. my mullet skirt...party in the front, business in the back), a tunic-length black silk tank, a coral/taupe clutch, and some taupe patent heels.  I was about 2" taller than Scott...good thing he's so darn confident.  :)

And now it's about five days until my very own wedding.  I'm excited to share that outfit with you, as well.  ;)

Last weekend I went to the most beautiful bridal shower, and the best part was that it was mine.  :)  I have been so surrounded by love throughout my engagement that it floors me.  I am thankful every day to have people like this in my life!  So...I thought I'd share some of the fun details from my day (and my outfit, of course!).

Sweets sign and Champagne

I love that "Sweets" sign - gold chevron!!

Lunch bouquets and painted rocks

Lunch was amazing!  A good friend made the bouquets and another hand-painted a rock for each guest (chevron!).  So beautiful!!

This is my newest maxi dress from Anthropologie.  It is super comfortable...almost like wearing pajamas.  Unfortunately it doesn't go all the way to the ground, so it's more like an ankle dress, but at 6'2" I'm not complaining!  While the one I'm wearing is sold out, this one is the same material and construction, just a different pattern.

Bridesmaids

Here I am with my bridesmaids.  I'm so lucky to have amazing people like them in my life!!!  Side note:  they are 5'0", 5'2", and 5'6".  Now see why I'm excited to meet tall blogger and Twitter friends?!?  ;)

Just 15 days until the wedding, then the honeymoon, then a move to Texas...after that, maybe life will calm down enough to start taking outfit shots again.  I hope so, because I miss connecting with you!!

19 Aug 2012

We're moving to Texas, y'all!  We come back from our honeymoon in mid October, and move 5 days later.  Wedding planning, finding a rental in TX and renting out our condo in Seattle, packing up our house, and weekly business trips mean that I barely have time to sit down, let alone see friends, work out, and keep up with my tall blogging friends.  I miss connecting with you!  Once everything calms down I'm going to get back in the game.  Until then, I'll live (and shop!) vicariously through you!

I thought in the meantime I'd share a couple tall finds that I bought recently.  I needed casual dresses to wear as beach cover ups on my honeymoond (43 days!).  I got them for a steal at Gap - the tall pocket maxi dress and the tall strapless maxi dress

If you've got any recommendations for casual beach dresses, I'd love it if you'd pass them along!
